Janice Elaine Mee, 77

Janice Elaine Mee, 77, of Coeur d’Alene, died of cancer Sunday, July 3, 2016, at home. She was surrounded by loving family in her last hours. Mom was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

She was born in Opheim, Mont., but spent most of her childhood in Power, Mont. She married Leonard Mee in Great Falls, Mont., on July 11, 1958. They were married for 49 years, until his death in 2007.

They are survived by five children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The five children are Tracy Erdmann, Jill Neal (Randy), Jody Kienke (Richard), Blake and Tim. The nine grandchildren are Kade (Jillian), Logan and Garrett Kienke; Camden and Calvin Mee; Kallie Neal; and Krystal Swenson (Jessie), Katy and Kara McCarthy. The five great-grandchildren are Zane Kienke; Payton and Kyler Mee; and Luke and Lyle Swenson.

She baby-sat and stayed at home while she raised her children, and once they all graduated she started her second career as a baker in school cafeterias. She worked 20 years, and retired as kitchen supervisor from Prairie View Elementary in Post Falls. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her sister, and spending time with her family.
