Allen Edward Everett, 79

Allen Edward Everett, 79, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away July 2, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society — Silver Wood Village in Silverton. He was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Chicago, Ill. Allen was the son of Victor Edward and Faye Iva (Thomas) Everett.

Allen attended and graduated from Fort Lupton High School in Fort Lupton, Colo. He proudly served as a corporal in the U.S. Marines.

Allen moved to the Silver Valley in 1998 from South Dakota.

He bred and raised greyhound dogs in Phoenix, Ariz. And when moving to South Dakota, he served as owner and operator of Allen Everett Kennels, raising and training greyhounds.

Allen was a member of the American Legion in Post Falls, Idaho. He loved and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading and music of all kinds. Allen was a concert pianist and had served as a bugler while serving in the Marines.

Allen is survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Gina Leitte of Pinehurst, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vicki Jo Everett.

Allen, you were loved so very much and will be dearly missed. But we know you are with Jesus now and resting peacefully.

A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Pinehurst Baptist Church (Pinehurst Lions Building), with Pastor Don White officiating. A reception will be held at the church following services. This will be a potluck and everyone is welcome.
