OUTDOORS: Keep it beautiful

| July 1, 2016 9:00 PM

Parents and grandparents please read! I am writing to you the parents and grandparents of the children who will be using Tubbs Hill and our beautiful lake.

As I walk around Tubbs Hill, I am saddened by the garbage and cigarette butts littered all over (by the way cigarette butts do NOT biodegrade). I am appealing to the parents and grandparents because I doubt the litter bugs are reading The Press. Please remember that we live in a beautiful place, and we would like to keep it that way. PACK it IN, PACK it OUT! There are many dedicated walkers who pick up YOUR trash, and they should not have to. Lazy and possibly not taught not to litter is probably the reason, but you can change that!

Please, please if you see it say something to these disrespectful youth. Maybe we can all make a difference in our beautiful North Idaho! This goes for the Coeur d’Alene River — what a mess that is! If your kids are going floating, say something about garbage and littering.
