ATTACKS: Why profiling works

I can think of more than 26 attacks throughout the world where everything has been used from bombs to pressure cookers and even grenades. I.e., the shoe bomber, Ft. Hood shooter, Israel Olympic team attackers, Moscow theater attackers and the list goes on. There is only one common thread that runs through all of them.

Israel airlines is one of the safest airlines in the world to travel on and in large part this is due to the fact that they profile those who will be on board each flight.

We were talking to some friends of ours and the husband was saying how pleased he was that they had no dandelions in their front lawn last year. It turned out that his wife was plucking the yellow flowers whenever they showed up.

Last week in Congress the Democrats held a protest that they want more gun controls. It seems to me that they would be happy in just picking the yellow flowers instead of killing the roots.

As politically incorrect as it might sound, perhaps we would be safer if we did a little profiling ourselves.
