Get ready to go green

| January 30, 2016 8:00 PM

To visit the land of leprechauns and shamrocks on St. Patrick's Day there is no need to travel to Ireland.

The "Coeur d'Irish" party at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, hosted by the Coeur d'Alene Rotary Club, will have plenty of Irish music, dancing and green beer to go around.

A traditional Irish dinner of corned beef and cabbage will be featured, along with Irish stew and soda bread. Irish dessert cocktails and Irish whiskey tasting will be highlighted as well. A brief, live auction will be held during the evening.

A fiddle and guitar duo will kick off the evening's performances, followed by the Lake City Highland Dancers and Coeur d'Alene Bag Pipers.

This new event

replaces the Rotary Club's auction and dinner typically held in the spring. Funds raised will go toward community service projects, grants and international service projects supported by the Rotary Club.

"Coeur d'Irish" begins at 5:30 p.m. March 17. Tickets are $35 and include dinner and entertainment.

Sponsorship tables may be reserved for $1,000 and include seating for eight, green beer, recognition and advertising at the event. The Coeur d'Alene Resort is offering accommodations at a discounted rate for guests of the event.
