cancels trip

to Apodaca Duals

The North Idaho College wrestling team cancelled its trip to the Apodaca Duals on the campus of Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., due to numerous injuries.

NIC had to cancel its sophomore night match on Wednesday against Simon Fraser due to only having four healthy wrestlers for the dual.

The Region 18 tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13 in Des Moines, Wash.

Salt Lake tonight

The North Idaho College men’s and women’s basketball teams resume Scenic West Athletic Conference play tonight against the Salt Lake Bruins in Taylorsville, Utah.

NIC’s men (23-0, 8-0) enter tonight’s game ranked third in this week’s NJCAA poll, with Salt Lake sitting 16th at 20-3, 7-1. The Cardinals beat the visiting Bruins in the first matchup of the season 87-77 on Jan. 9 in Coeur d’Alene.

NIC’s women (17-4, 5-3) climbed two spots in this week’s NJCAA poll, moving to 23rd. Salt Lake (22-1, 7-1) is fourth and beat the Cardinals 75-54 in the Jan. 9 game.

Games are available via webcast at www.nicathletics.com starting with the women’s game at 4:30 p.m. PST, to be followed by the men’s game at 6:30.

Umpqua Bank to host

T-Shirt exchange

Umpqua Bank, the official team bank of the Spokane Empire, announced a t-shirt exchange opportunity for fans ahead of the Indoor Football League season.

The bank will be accepting any t-shirts featuring the franchise’s former Shock moniker in exchange for a new Spokane Empire t-shirt Feb. 1-6.

Coeur d’Alene locations are at 1233 Northwood Center Court and 1106 Sherman Avenue.

T-shirts will be available while supplies last at each location. There is a limit of one per person.

Old shirts will be collected and donated to the Salvation Army.
