USDA - Forest Service Idaho Panhandle National Forests Priest Lake Ranger District Pend Oreille County, Washington The Priest Lake Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests (IPNF) is seeking comments on activities proposed on National Forest System lands in an area approximately 6 miles northeast of Usk, Washington and 6 miles west of Priest Lake, Idaho. The 11,700-acre Tower Fire Area is located entirely within Pend Oreille County (T35N-R45E, T35N-R44E, T34N-R45E, and T34N-R44E). The proposal has been identified as the Tower Fire Salvage and Reforestation Project. Primary objectives of the proposal are to 1) Provide a safe and dependable transportation system free of unstable fire-affected trees or other hazards in areas of public and administrative use; 2) Recover the economic value of forest products in a timely manner to contribute to employment and income in local communities; and, 3) Re-establish forested conditions to trend the project area towards Forest Plan desired conditions; in particular, increase the representation of early seral conifer species. This project is proposing to salvage on approximately 4,271 acres and treat danger trees on approximately 52 miles of roads and 12 miles of trail. The project also includes reforestation within the treatment units and apporximately 83 miles of road maintenance and reconstruction along the haul routes. As part of this project, the Forest is requesting an emergency situation determiniation (ESD), pursuant to 36 CFR 218.21, to address the hazards threating health and safety along the roads and trails within the project area, and capture the commodity value necessary to accomplish project objectives directly related to reforestation. The project area is located north of Enaville and west of Prichard, Idaho, in the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River drainage, and is located within the perimeter of the Grizzly Complex Fire, in Shoshone County, Idaho (the legal description is T50N-R2E; T50N-R3E; T51N-R2E; T51N-R3E; T52N-R2E; T52N-R3E; Boise Meridian). The proposal has been identified as the Grizzly Fire Salvage and Restoration Project. Primary objectives of the proposal are to 1) Provide a safe and dependable transportation system free of unstable fire-affected trees or other hazards in areas of public and administrative use; 2) Re-establish forested conditions to trend the project area toward desired conditions as described by the IPNF Land Management Plan; in particular, increase the representation of early seral conifer species; and 3) Recover the economic value of forest products in a timely manner to contribute to employment and income in local communities. This project is proposing to salvage timber on approximately 1,700 acres, treat danger trees on approximately 1,325 acres (within 200-foot buffers on either side of forest roadways within the fire perimeter), and plant trees on 1,837 acres. Road maintenance would occur on an estimated 118 miles of existing road. Lakeland Joint School District No. 272 NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Lakeland Joint School District #272 is soliciting proposals to provide increased bandwidth for the District's network and Internet access to all building locations of the District. The District will consider proposals to upgrade or replace the current fiber system, or other suitable solutions. The project must be completed by August 1, 2016. The District wishes to enter into a contract for two years, with the ability to extend, by mutual agreement, an additional two years. The District retains the right to utilize any current State of Idaho contracts. If services are provided by tariff the District may enter into a monthly agreement under provisions of the tariff. Proposals shall include rates for a minimum of 1 Gb service to all district locations. The proposal must also include the rate for the addition of bandwidth in the future.
