A Post Falls man was arrested for battery Friday evening.

According to a report from the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a domestic violence call on Spokane Street just after 6 p.m. The offender had consumed alcohol and became aggressive with his wife and daughters. One victim was choked, pushed and held down against her will. The report noted red marks around the base of her neck as well as a slightly swollen tongue, which is indicative of strangulation.

Another domestic dispute including alcohol was reported Monday.

The KCSO reported a man was arrested in Hayden for domestic battery just before 10 p.m. after getting into a dispute with his girlfriend, who said they both had been drinking. The offender reportedly hit the girlfriend in the nose and threatened to kill himself, while wielding knives. He was arrested for domestic battery in the presence of a child.
