Genesis Prep, in its first season sanctioned by the Idaho High School Activities Association in boys basketball, can wrap up the North Star League title this week.

The Jaguars (11-4, 7-0 NSL) travel to Clark Fork on Tuesday and play host to Mullan on Thursday at Post Falls Middle School.

A win over Clark Fork would clinch the No. 1 seed to the 1A Division II District 1 tournament next month, and a win over Mullan would lock up the North Star League title.

The regular season in 5A Inland Empire League girls basketball wraps up this week with a pair of games — Post Falls (11-8, 3-2 5A IEL) at Coeur d’Alene (8-11, 0-5) on Thursday, and Lewiston (14-5, 3-2) at league-leading Lake City (15-4, 4-1) on Saturday — which will have key seeding implications for the Region 1 tournament which starts Feb. 5.

This week’s prep wrestling tournament is the North Idaho Rumble, which will attract most of the area’s teams to Coeur d’Alene High on Friday and Saturday.

The North Idaho College men’s and women’s basketball teams take to the road this week, for games at Salt Lake on Thursday and at Snow on Saturday.

The NIC wrestling team is home vs. Simon Fraser on Wednesday for sophomore night, then heads to Powell, Wyo., for the Apadaca Duals on Friday and Saturday.
