Body found near Cataldo

CATALDO — Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of E. Canyon Road and E. Hardy Loop near Cataldo shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday for the report of a body along the side of the road.

Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed there was a deceased person at the scene. Detectives from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Investigations Division responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation.

Canyon Road was blocked near Hardy Loop and will remain closed until sometime mid-day today.

The investigation is ongoing.
