Steven Allen Hart, 59

| January 23, 2016 8:00 PM

Born June 2, 1956, to Ed and Alice Hart in Coeur d’Alene. Steve was raised in Coeur d’Alene, one of very few to go to Roosevelt Grade School.

After high school, he joined the Army, coming back to work in the wood mill industry as a millwright. He worked throughout the Northwest building sawmills and tearing down old mills. He was currently working for Plummer Forest Products when he lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 18, 2016.

All who knew Steve will always remember his sense of humor and willingness to help others. He was an avid camper. He would spend his days off camping, cutting wood, riding four-wheelers and sitting around the campfire up the river with his wife, Kookie, and family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Hart, Alice and Eldon Cozine; his sister, Carol Gillaspy; and his brother, Rod Hart. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kookie and sons Kyle and Jeremy at the family home in Rathdrum; daughter Amanda Hill, and grandchildren Samantha and Benjamin of Weston, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Star Hart of Post Falls; and brother Don Hart of Missoula, Mont.; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

A celebration of Steve’s’ life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the Hayden Lake Eagles, 1520 W. Wyoming Ave., Hayden Lake, Idaho. Memorials can be made to gofundme.com/hkkkf6ms or Hart %, P.O. Box 2133, Post Falls, ID 83877. English Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
