KELLOGG — Allison Kirby scored 11 points and the visiting Timberlake Tigers clinched the Intermountain League title with a 57-24 victory over the Kellogg Wildcats on Friday night at Andrews Gymnasium.

Timberlake (15-1, 5-0 IML), ranked No. 2 in the state in 3A, also clinched the top seed to the 3A District 1 tournament starting on Feb. 8 at North Idaho College.

Kayla Miller scored seven points for Kellogg (10-7, 1-3), but a 22-3 run to start the game allowed the Tigers to pull away.

“I think there’s a reason why they’re ranked so high in the state,” Kellogg coach Eli Bourgard said. “They’re a great team defensively.”

Timberlake, which has won 15 straight, hosts Moscow on Thursday.

Kellogg hosts Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.
