James Edward Swanson aka 'Swannee,' 67
It is with much sadness I announce the passing of my husband James. He fought a long and courageous battle the past four years and sadly the cancer took him on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, with his wife at his side. Born on March 20, 1948, James grew up and went to school in the California Bay Area.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he spent one of his four years in Da Nang, fighting the Vietnam War with his brothers. In 1996, we moved to Post Falls, Idaho, to be near his mother and sister, whom sadly have since passed.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Swanson of Post Falls; niece Pauline Currie and husband Steve; niece Stephanie White and husband Justin; two great-niece’s Kyla Currie and Alexis Allen; and one great-nephew AJ Currie.
At James’ request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers and cards, donations can be made to Hospice of North Idaho, Hospice House, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden ID 83835 in memory of him. His passion and favorite pass time was fishing. For his fishing buddies remember him fondly when saying “Fish On.” Please share your thoughts and memories of James in his online memorial at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
