Flame & Cork ready for business
Wood-fired pizza, salads, starters and beverages in an attractive place with a rustic decor of stone and wood are at the Flame & Cork. The new restaurant opened last week at 9225 N. Government Way. A bit hard to find, it’s just east of the Triple Play complex off Highway 95.
Ten specialty pizzas are featured with two salads and interesting starters of cheese and charcuterie (variety) plates, stuffed mushrooms and caprese’ bruschetta. A dessert is a wood-fired brownie and ice cream. Several beers and wines are offered.
Chef and general manager Nick Young has restaurant training from his time at the University of Oregon. Owners are his parents, John and Connie Young.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with Tuesdays and Wednesdays added starting Jan. 26.
