Coeur d'Alene man dies in Highway 2 crash
An accident on Highway 2 west of Sandpoint left a Coeur d'Alene man dead and three others injured Saturday.
Tyler S. Bartlett was driving his 2007 Subaru Forrester when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered road at milepost 21, according to Idaho State Police.
Bartlett crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle, a 2011 Honda CRV, head-on.
Bartlett and his passenger, Elizabeth M. Welker, 22, of Coeur d'Alene were initially transported to Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, then transferred to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene where Bartlett succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, Joel P. Slover, 57, and his passenger, Lorraine M. Slover, 55, both of Newport, suffered injuries and were taken to Bonner General Hospital.
All of the parties involved were wearing seat belts.
