GUNS: It's about the money

I recall the Preamble, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

The part about securing the blessings of Liberty is what went wrong at Sandy Hook Elementary School, when those first graders’ Liberty to live was not secured. Some talk of the government taking away our Liberty. What about those whose Liberty was robbed from them thanks to the National Rifle Association, their lobbyists, and shamefully, our United States Congressmen/women?

Anyone who speaks in support of no government gun restrictions is also guilty of robbing others of their Liberty, in that they don’t care if crazies kill little kids.

I know a man, like many of you, who owns sub-machine guns. When asked why he needed that sort of weapon, he said, “If someone breaks into my house, I’ll use that gun.” This type of thinking is ignorant, to say the least. I silently pondered, is he that poor of a shot that it takes him an entire clip of deadly bullets to stop one burglar?

It’s shameful that the almighty dollar is what fires the resistance to gun control. I don’t think the general public give that aspect of gun control resistance a thought, they just want what they want, disregarding the rights of others to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The NRA, their lobbyists, and congressmen/women favor NO gun control in exchange for the huge amounts of money generated from gun sales. Money in exchange for the lives of innocent people whose Liberty is snuffed out is not the Christian way, nor is it the humanitarian way we should behave.
