June Mitchell, 93

June E. Mitchell, beloved mother, entered the presence of her Lord Jesus on Jan. 10, 2016. She was born June 8, 1922, in Bridgeport, Wash., to Clinton and Ada (Craze) Lilly.

She married C.M. Mitchell in 1940 and shortly thereafter they moved to Coeur d’Alene. Her husband was employed by General Telephone and June often traveled with him to install new telephone central office equipment. They lived in the Spokane Valley from 1954 to 1965 and then in Everett, Wash., from 1965 to 1980 when they returned to Coeur d’Alene for retirement.

June was an active member of First Assembly of God in Coeur d’Alene, Everett Bethany Christian Assembly and Spokane Valley Assembly of God. She attended Northwest Bible Institute in Seattle from 1939 to 1940 and she was active in Gideons. June enjoyed senior activities at the Jewett House, traveling and cruising. Her travels included Alaska, Florida, Europe and Israel.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, C. Marshall Mitchell; six siblings and two great-granddaughters. She is survived by sons Rodney (Kathryn) Mitchell and Marshall (Deborah) Mitchell of Coeur d’Alene; her daughter, Linda Mitchell of Seattle; a brother, Glen Lilly of Hawaii; grandchildren Kerri Mitchell, Kevin (Vickie) Mitchell, Kim (Paul) Gustafson and Chad (Brittney) Mitchell; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank June’s friends and caregivers at Bestland Senior Living and Wellspring Meadows where June resided the last two years of her life.
