Gloria Wallace, 60

| January 13, 2016 8:00 PM

Gloria Wallace, adored mother, grandmother and friend, died on June 13, 2013. She was born on Oct. 28, 1952, to Velma Prentice and William Smith in Exeter, Calif.

She moved to Idaho in 1992 and immediately fell in love with the scenic Northwest. In 1993, her only child, Tina (25 years) and granddaughter Brittany (16 months), followed her and planted roots in Coeur d’Alene.

Gloria was a dental assistant and taught her trade at a school in California in her early 30s.

She had an outstanding, approachable personality and she truly “never met a stranger.” She was a sweet, kindhearted, amicable, strong and courageous woman.

She enjoyed camping with her family, nature walks at Heyburn State Park and many other trails; her daughter and granddaughters always with her. She loved dining at nice restaurants, and was an incredible artist who drew beautiful pictures of wolves and other animals. Most of all she loved doting her grandbabies with her time and affection.

Her wonderful smile, heartwarming laugh, witty remarks, and natural charm will be incredibly missed, but comfort is sought knowing she is in the arms of the Lord. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We love you “skies and skies, like a rock” and “together forever, forever together.”

Gloria is survived by her granddaughters, Brittany Brewer and Kianna Cornett; and her great-grandsons, Kaleb Brewer and Tristan Brewer. Gloria was also survived by her daughter, Tina Williams, who took care of her during her final years; Tina passed away earlier this year (2016).

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at New Life Community Church, 6068 W. Hayden Ave., Rathdrum.
