Offering shuttles, charters, buses, limousines and, of course, taxis, Coeur d’Alene Taxi has moved from Fourth Street to 2320 Government Way (just over Interstate 90).

The company accommodates any occasion such as weddings, nights on the town, transportation to conventions and sporting events, standard taxi rides and charity work. This includes after-school programs, summer camps and Clothe A Child.

Owners Blaine and Svetlana Svetich and manager Renea Ferguson will launch the Choose Your Ride service with 10 to 20 taxis on the streets to curb drinking and driving. They have positions for drivers and dispatchers.

The company started in 2008 and plans to offer a water taxi and helicopter service. Phone 676-TAXI (8294). Check www.coeurdalenetaxi.com.

Spoelstra Chiropractic, FOCUS grow, move

Spoelstra Family Chiropractic and the FOCUS program have moved to 214 W. Sunset Ave. Moving after five years on Kathleen Avenue, the new, larger location is across the street (south) of Home Depot and west of Sunset Lanes.

Dr. Amy Spoelstra, a graduate of Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C., has served this area for nine years. She specializes in a low force, comfortable techniques that don’t involve twisting of the neck or back, pediatric chiropractic and patient education.

She and husband David Spoelstra operate the FOCUS program that helps families with members with neurodevelopment disorders such as autism, spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, obsessive compulsive disorder, Tourettes Syndrome and other non-diagnosed developmental issues.

Free lectures about the program are offered each month with the next one 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Pilgrim’s Market.

Both offices are open Monday through Thursday with five employees. Phone 667-7434. Check www.cdahealth.com and www.cdafocus.com.

- West-bound lanes of Dalton Avenue really need right-turn lanes at Government Way and Highway 95 so vehicles coming from the sheriff’s building can get to emergencies faster.

- While gathering information on the closing of the Army-Navy Store, I bought men’s underwear for $1. One pair had a map of Australia. I guess it’s for down under.
