MOSCOW — Duncan Butler hit a pair of free throws with 22 seconds remaining, and the visiting Lake City Timberwolves got a defensive stop on the ensuing possession to beat the Moscow Bears 49-47 on Friday night in a nonleague game at Bear Den.

Moscow led 30-20 at halftime, keyed by 8 of 9 from beyond the 3-point line.

“Moscow shot the ball really well in the first half,” Lake City assistant coach Kelly Reed said. “We just showed a ton of guts in the second half and played extremely hard. We picked up the defensive pressure and were able to get out of there with a win.”

Garrett Flolo scored 13 points for Lake City (3-9), which travels to Lewiston on Tuesday.

Cooper Stephens scored 14 points for Moscow (0-7).

POST FALLS — Zach Hillman had 22 points, two assists, five rebounds and three steals, leading the Trojans past the Wolfpack of Kalispell, Mont., at The Arena.

“I thought Glacier came at us with three different aggressive zone looks,” Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. “But I’m proud of my guys. Everytime they threw something at us, we adjusted for the most part. They kind of hurt us in the first quarter, but Zach just had a great game and was consistent in each quarter. He was just battling and was a warrior for us.”

Jake Pfennigs had 13 points and eight rebounds, Jack Millsap had 11 points for Post Falls (8-5), which hosts Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

McLean also praised the effort of Tanner McCliment-Call, David Bourgard and Jayden Gering off the bench for Post Falls.

“Both Tanner and David were fantastic,” McLean said. “Those guys coming off the bench are accepting the challenge and giving us good contribution.”

Taden Gillman scored 28 points for Glacier.

SPIRIT LAKE — Several turnovers and big shots by the visiting Badgers bothered the Tigers in an Intermountain League loss.

“That was the difference in the game,” Timberlake coach Tony Hanna said. “Their full-court press gave us fits all night long. They forced a lot of turnovers and converted on them. They shot 40 free throws and they made 22. They hit some huge shots in overtime. It was pretty exciting.”

Dan Smith grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a shot at the buzzer in regulation to tie the game at 47 and send the game into overtime.

In overtime, Timberlake got behind early. Chris Sabin, who scored six of his 11 points in overtime, hit a key 3-pointer for a one-point lead. Two steals by the Badgers each led to layins to put Bonners Ferry up five in the first minute of OT.

“It was a great team win,” Wallace coach Chris Lund said. “We had a little bit of a letdown in the third quarter, but we prevailed. Maryssa had a great night shooting and our posts (Shelby Majszak, Tamra Jackson and Jen Hayman) played tough by boxing out and scoring down the stretch.”

Bella Murekatete added 15 points and 19 rebounds.
