Woman found near Cd'A Resort dies; submerged vehicle found nearby
COEUR d'ALENE - A 72-year-old Montana woman is dead, and her partially submerged vehicle was found today near The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
According to a news release from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, officers responded to The Resort at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report about an unconscious woman. Officers located the woman on the east side of The Resort and, according to the release, a Coeur d'Alene Resort employee was with the female and starting life-saving measures.
After medical personnel arrived the woman was transported to Kootenai Health, where she was later pronounced dead.
The release adds that officers also located a partially submerged vehicle, which belongs to the female, on the Third Street Boat Launch.
The identity of the woman, who the release said is from Great Falls, is not being released by law enforcement officials until next of kin is notified.
Coeur d'Alene Police Department detectives are investigating the incident.
