CORRIDOR: Keep it beautiful

| January 6, 2016 8:00 PM

Dear Mayor Widmyer, Council Members, and City Staff;

We are writing concerning the development of the Spokane River Corridor between Riverstone and Mill River. It is our hope that public access to the natural beauty of that area can be maintained, especially regarding possible paths and bikeways alongside the river.

We, like so many, have moved to this area because of the natural environment and the recreational opportunities that exist. Each year, however, it seems access to that beauty is increasingly more limited; the only people who can enjoy it are those who have the capability to buy it.

Although we have nothing against private ownership, it is our opinion that the City of Cd’A has an obligation to preserve access to the natural beauty and the waterways that belong to all of our citizens, not just those who can afford to purchase it.

We ask that you keep the interests of the general public in mind as you make important decisions concerning the development of the Spokane River Corridor.
