PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Tigers roll past Priest River
SPIRIT LAKE — Keelie Lawler scored 18 points and Allison Kirby and Jacquelyn Mallett each added seven points to lead the Timberlake Tigers past the Priest River Spartans in each team’s Intermountain League opener at Timberlake High.
“I liked our intensity the entire game,” Tiger coach Matt Miller said. “We came out and sustained a high amount of energy, which was good to see.”
Timberlake (8-1, 1-0) will host Kellogg tonight at 7:30 in IML play.

HARRISON FLATS — Shelby Holder scored 11 points and Kaylee Auer added 10 and St. Maries overpowered Kootenai.
Kaili Gentry led the Warriors (2-5) with 13 points and Grace McInturrf added 10.
“St. Maries is a pretty loaded team,” Kootenai coach Mike LaFountaine said. “I was really impressed with the way we played as a team.”
The Lumberjacks (9-1) host Orofino on Saturday. Kootenai hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
