HUNT: Break law, lose sympathy

| January 3, 2016 8:00 PM

First off, Mr. Brummett, let me thank you for your service. Both of my grandfathers and many other family members have served in the armed services and I have the utmost respect to all veterans. My grandmother has also been restricted to a wheelchair for most of my life so I also have respect and empathy to people with disabilities, either physical or mental.

That being said, Mr. Brummett, you are breaking the law in Idaho and you should be charged with illegally baiting deer. Not only is this not the first time you are being charged, you acknowledged that you know it’s illegal in Idaho on your report with KREM 2 News. With the money that you will either eventually pay in fines or waste from the local taxpayers while you serve time in jail, you could take a taxi or fill up your brother’s gas tank to travel the whole 37 miles from Hayden Lake to Spokane where an entire state gives you the legal right to bait deer all you want. I want you to succeed in your goal of obtaining a whitetail but you need to do it legally.
