Audrey Jean Maskell, 85

Audrey Jean Maskell, 85, passed away peacefully at The Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho on Dec. 11, 2015. The best mother, grandmother and great grandmother you could ask for is now at peace. She loved and cared so much for all who were in her life. Audrey was born on Nov. 30, 1930, in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. She married the love of her life, Bert Maskell in 1947. Audrey and Bert had two children, Bonnie and Brad. In 1959 she moved with Bert and their two children to San Diego, Calif. She then worked for General Telephone Company in Laguna Beach, Calif. and later transferred with her family to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1969. From there, Audrey lived in Cocolalla, Idaho, Roswell, N.M., Rathdrum, Idaho, and finally Hayden, Idaho. She and her husband, Bert, enjoyed long careers and both retired from GTE. Audrey and Bert enjoyed traveling and RV'ing for a period of time after retirement. Audrey will be remembered for her hospitality, cooking, thoughtfulness, and great sense of humor. Her laugh was well known and contagious. Always smiling and joking. Audrey loved life. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Juds in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; her son, Brad Maskell in Hayden, Idaho; four grandchildren, Carrie Morrison, Ryan Maskell, Zachary Maskell, all living in Hayden, Idaho and Alec Weldon in Sequim, Wash.; great grandchildren Zoe O'Brien and Xayne Christiansen in Hayden, Idaho; one sister, Beryl Rye in Yucca Valley, Calif. Audrey is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Bert and three sisters, Millie, Mickey, and Mavis. Rest in peace. You were loved by so many, such a great life you had and you did it oh so well, always staying positive you loved and enjoyed family and friends so much. You will be missed by so many.
