Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for news on Coeur d’Alene Taxi moving, Numerica Credit Union opening in Post Falls, Starbucks moving in Ironwood Square, Monet Floors & Home Design moving on Government Way, Ace Hardware opening in Rathdrum and Real Deals on Home Decor to Fourth Street.

- Restaurants-eateries on the horizon are Chipotle Mexican Grill on Appleway, Grille From Ipanema moving from downtown to Riverstone, Anthony’s in Riverstone and Cracker Barrel, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Native Grill & Wings, all between Winco Center and I-90.

- The Idaho State Treasurer’s Office Unclaimed Property Program has $13,097,468.16 in newly submitted lost or forgotten money for Idahoans to claim. This money was just turned over to the state so even if a person has checked for their name in the past and didn’t find money, their name could be there now. Businesses and organizations that cannot locate rightful owners annually submit abandoned money to the state. What is the source of the money? A few examples are overpaid bills, utility deposits, inactive savings and checking accounts, life insurance policies, stocks and bonds.

With a new and user friendly website and web address, www.yourmoney.idaho.gov, Idahoans can search for their names and file a claim online. Searching and claiming lost money is always free and confidential.

Check www.missingmoney.com for money in other states.

- The North Idaho College men’s basketball team now has 18 wins and 0 losses and is nationally ranked! Their next home game is 7:30 p.m. Thursday preceded by the women’s game at 5:30. And the gals are 14-2. It’s just $6 with a great pep band, cheerleaders and good snacks.

- Avoid writing “There” at the beginning of a sentence. It forces a boring “to be” verb. Go from “There are five teams racing tonight” to “Five teams race tonight.”

- I can’t put down my book about anti-gravity.
