Several sheriff's deputies responded at 1:30 a.m. Sunday to Razzle's Bar and Grill in Hayden on a report of a bar fight involving as many as 10 people.

Once at the scene and not finding a brawl in progress, police interviewed an employee of the establishment at 10325 N. Government Way and determined a fight broke out earlier between two women.

According to an incident report from the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, the fight started after one woman confronted the other for allegedly cheating with her husband. A group of people broke up the fight and removed one woman, the wife, from the bar.

Witnesses told deputies she returned a short time later and punched her husband, who was extremely intoxicated, in the face as he sat at the bar, according to the report.

She was again removed from the bar and 911 was called.

Deputies located the wife outside behind the bar. She was extremely intoxicated, with a small smear of dried blood on her face.

"In speaking with those involved, it appeared (the wife, born in 1961) became enraged/jealous because she felt that (her husband) and (the other woman) may be intimate with one another," the incident report said. "Due to her level of intoxication she acted out on this jealousy with violence in the crowded bar."

The wife, a Hayden resident, was arrested and booked into the Kootenai County jail for battery and domestic battery.
