William “Bill” Frederick Stollfuss III, 77, of Wallace, Idaho, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Jan. 30, 2016, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Bill was born in Ripon, Wis., to William Frederick Stollfuss II and Beulah Gibson (Stollfuss).

Bill attended Waukesha High School in Waukesha, Wis. In high school, he soared at swimming. Bill was married, at the young age of 17 to his first wife, Kitty. Together, they had four children.

In his younger adult years, Bill worked and excelled at being a door-to-door salesman. This is how he met his second wife, Mary Jo Steinmann, they were married and together they raised two sons. In 1977, they moved from Milwaukee, Wis., to Poway, Calif. This is where Bill started his carpet business and became “Bill the Carpet Guy.” He became one of the top carpet salesman and installer in San Diego, Calif. After he retired he moved to Wallace in 2004.

Bill enjoyed photography and was a member of Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene. This is where he built and found his loving relationship with the Lord. Bill was a very kind and loving man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was definitely a give the “shirt off his back kind of guy.”
