Dick Porter, 85

Richard Arnold Porter ended his battle with Parkinson’s disease on Feb. 19, 2016, in Post Falls, Idaho.

Dick was born on April 3, 1930, in Florence, Ohio. He married his first wife, Catherine, in 1956 and had five boys: Bobby, Mike, Jeff, Rod and Terry.

He then moved to Thousand Oaks, Calif., and met Linda Roberts in the theater. Dick and Linda were married on Nov. 16, 1968, in Montecito, Calif. Linda had two boys, Darren and Greg. Together they raised their sons and had one daughter, Michelle. They have been happily married for 47 years. Dick operated three retail furniture stores in California.

Dick and Linda moved to Post Falls in 1992 and have lived here ever since. He continued to work and pursue his hobby of filming commercials and acting until the age of 76. Dick was a charming people pleaser. He was always kidding around and had many loyal friends and was a wonderful husband. He will be missed and remembered with love from his family and friends.

His mother, father and two sons precede him in death.

At Dick’s request there will be no funeral. There will be a private celebration at a later date. Please view and sign Dick’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
