Beverly Katherine Pegg, 89

Beverly Pegg, 89, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2016, in Spokane. She was born on Feb. 7, 1927, to Jesse and Marie Dietrich, joining her sister, Lois, on the family farm in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Because she was a preemie when she was born, Beverly loved to tell the story of how her parents were told she would never live past infancy, but “I proved them wrong!” And she did, living to marry Robert L. Pegg on Aug. 30, 1946, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and together they owned and managed the State Motel there. They raised their two sons, Robert L. Pegg Jr. and John D. Pegg, there. Retirement saw them settle into a home in Spokane Valley.

Beverly’s husband, sister and oldest son preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, John and his wife, Mary; granddaughters Ashley Barrett (Ryan) and Marisa Templin (Kevin); and grandsons Robert L. Pegg III (Nicole), Derek Pegg (Cassie) and Kevin Pegg. She was also fortunate to have five great-grandchildren: Ella Pegg, Ben Barrett, Jack Pegg, Liliana Pegg and Aiden Templin.

A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Hospice of Spokane.
