STATE 1A DIVISION II GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lakeside to play for consolation title

NAMPA — Lakeside junior post Lillian Rhea finished with a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds, powering the Lakeside Knights to a 67-62 win over Council in the consolation bracket Friday to reach the consolation finals in the state 1A Division II tournament at Nampa High.

Rhea helped Lakeside (16-6) stake a 29-19 halftime lead, then held on in the second half and shot 43 percent in the game to top Council (19-6).

Cailyn Dohrman added 15 points and three steals for the Knights.

Lakeside plays at 8:15 a.m. PST today at Nampa High against Nezperce, which beat Deary 32-16 on Friday. Lakeside beat Nezperce 36-34 in last year’s consolation championship game.
