EXPLORER: Just picture this

The Friday 2/12 article about a series to feature historic newsmakers of the Inland Northwest shows photos of Thompson, Desmet, and Mullan. There are no known photos of David Thompson. Thompson died in 1857 at the age of 87. This great explorer and mapmaker died in poverty and obscurity. Photos of that time and earlier were relatively expensive and limited to people of wealth and prestige.

There are a couple of physical descriptions of Thompson that hopefully will be mentioned in the program.
