Chocolate Affair division winners earn awards, bragging rights

Truffles, bark, cake bites and all things chocolate ruled Friday night during the annual Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association's The Chocolate Affair in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Participating sweets-makers who crafted chocolaty treats were critiqued on overall appearance of display and sample, overall taste and the baker's description of samples. Event guests also voted for their favorites for the people's choice award. About 800 people attended.

Division winners received awards to hang in their businesses to let the world know their chocolate creations reigned supreme at this year's event.

Here are The Chocolate Affair 2016 winners:

• Professional winner: Dandelion Bakery, which served samples in Tomlinson and Sotheby's International Realty.

• Non-professional winner: Mrs. Honeypeeps, located inside The Resort Plaza Shops.

• People's choice: Wiggett's Antique Marketplace, located south of Sherman Avenue on Fourth Street.
