Carmen De Broux Halley, 83

Carmen De Broux Halley died peacefully at Life Care Center on Feb. 11, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 83.

Carmen was preceded in death last August by her husband of 21 years, James D. (Pat) Halley of Coeur d’Alene, and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John F. and Carole Le Blanc of Prince Rupert, B.C., Canada; son Peter G. Le Blanc of Montreal, Canada; daughter Gina J. Le Blanc of Benalto, Canada; and son and daughter-in-law Michael Le Blanc and Shannon Fraser-Le Blanc of Prince Rupert, Canada.

She is also survived by Pat’s son and daughter-in-law Don and Judy Halley of Littleton, Colo.; his daughter and son-in-law Terry and Rich Elkins of Pascagoula, Miss.; his daughter-in-law Kay Bobince and her husband Mike of Spirit Lake; as well as by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Le Blanc; and brothers Arthur De Broux and Jack De Broux. Also surviving is her first husband and the father of her children, William Le Blanc; her second husband, Donald William Rhyason; and her stepbrother and his wife, Jack and Betty Ranger.

Carmen was born on Jan. 29, 1933, in Montreal, the daughter of Fernand and Rose Bradley De Broux. After graduating from College Saint Anne High School, she enjoyed life and had many interests, which included painting and collecting art, and shared Pat’s love of classic cars, including their Model T and Model A, which they proudly drove in numerous parades. She was a Presbyterian by faith, and she and Pat enjoyed Thursday Bible Study in the Fireside Room at First Presbyterian Church. They especially enjoyed all the social events at Bestland. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by friends, neighbors and family, including the staff and residents of Bestland.

A celebration of Carmen’s life will be held on at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Bestland, 606 E. Best Ave,, Coeur d’Alene, where Pat and Carmen resided for the past four years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the SPCA, Cancer Society or any charity of your choice.
