Dorothy J. Almond, 87
Dorothy J. Almond, 87, a 53-year-resident of Coeur d’Alene, passed away Feb. 8, 2016. She was born May 28, 1928, in Liberal, Kan., to John O. Elliott and Jennie M. Elliot.
On Jan. 17, 1945, she married James “Jim” Almond in San Francisco. She owned and operated 4-J’s Sales and Service along with her husband for 25-plus years. During this same time, she was a sales representative for Sabre saw chain. Later in life, she went to work for Center Partners. Her hobbies and interests included gold mining, riding snowmobiles and four-wheelers. She was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association, Back Country ATV, North Idaho ATV and the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, one brother and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Linda of Coeur d’Alene; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Gary DiPietro of Priest River; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
