Sydney Capellen (“Syd”) passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.

Born in Seattle to Eleanor and Sidney, she grew up on Stone Avenue with her sisters, Gail and Patty. In 1977, she moved to Coeur d’Alene and married Bill, the love of her life, enjoying 38 years of love and adventures together.

Syd always loved dogs, sports, the outdoors, friends, being crafty and life in Coeur d’Alene. Over the years she was an avid softball player, skier, bowler, golfer, gardener, fisherman, hunter and trap shooter. She loved including her grandchildren in her activities whenever they were visiting from the East Coast or Seattle. When not enjoying the outdoors, she worked at Coeur d’Alene Honda and then at the Coeur d’Alene City Attorney’s Office, retiring in 2008.

Syd is survived by her beloved husband, Bill; her big sister, Gail Agee of Edmonds, Wash.; as well as her two children, Mark Anderson of Seattle and Debbie Donahoe (husband Howie) of Kirkland, Wash. Her grandchildren Chris Donahoe of Arlington, Va., Katherine Kropp (and Caley) of Greenville, N.C., Andrew “A.J.” Anderson (and Tanisha) of Kent, Wash., Annie Corson (and Justin) of Kirkland, Curtis “C.J.” Donahoe (fiancé Zoë) of Palo Alto, Calif., Jillian Donahoe of Boise, Idaho; and great-grandchildren Wyatt and Max Anderson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephew. And last, but not least, her very much loved dogs, Izzy and Callahan.

In passing, Syd joins her father, Sidney; mother Eleanor; stepfather Carl; sister Patty and niece Vicki.
