| February 11, 2016 8:00 PM

Michael Charles Hutchings, or Hutch as many of you knew him, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, went to meet Jesus on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, after a valiant fight with cancer. Mike is the oldest of four siblings and was born in Everett, Wash., on June 25, 1957, to Gordon and Joy Hutchings.

He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1975 and married his high school sweetheart, Becky Snyder, on May 5, 1978. Together they had three children, Christopher, Patrick and Kayla. On Jan. 6, 1996, Mike married his love Kim Waddell, along with her she brought her two daughters, Amanda and Jennifer to create a blended family of five children who love each other immensely.

Mike began working for Tidyman’s at the age of 15 and worked his way up to become manager of the Tidyman’s meat plant. After approximately 30 years at Tidyman’s he moved into management at the Super 1 meat department.

Mike has always had a passion for football. He coached junior tackle with his best friend Pat Kennedy for the Lions Club for 10 years. Every year he was coach they were in 1st place. He coached John Frieze and made him quarterback who went on to play in the NFL. He loved to backpack, fish and ride motorcycles like a mad man!

Mike is survived by his wife, Kim and his children, Christopher (Cheralet, Azlynn, 8, and Ariana, 1), Patrick (Jenny, Ryan, 2), Kayla (Kwaku, Christian, 5, and Eliana, 5 months), Amanda, and Jennifer (Nate, Josslyn, 5). His mom, Joy; his brothers, Gordon and Brian; and sister Rena. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews. In the last year of his three-year battle with cancer, his puppy and best friend Lily was a huge part of his positive attitude, joy, laughter and love!

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gordon, and his grandparents.
