James Allen Haneke, 55

James Allen Haneke, 55, passed away on Feb. 4, 2016, in St. Maries, Idaho. He was born to Harold and Twyla (Wilson) Haneke on May 7, 1960, in Spokane, Wash. Jim grew up in Spokane graduating from University High School.

Following high school, Jim played college football for Idaho State University. He attended college for a couple years then went on to work for Murphy Brothers handling heavy equipment. Jim met Jan Deweese in Fairfield, Wash., while he was conducting some work outside her house. The couple fell in love and married on Aug. 13, 1994, in Spokane. The family made their home in Waverly, Wash., and Jim went to work for Adairco now ACI, Inc. They recently relocated to St. Maries and loved the area. Jim enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, Razor riding, elk camp, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jan, at the family home in St. Maries. Also surviving are his son, Giles (Krystina) Curtis of St. Maries; daughter Katie Haneke (Josh Buell) of St. Maries; brother and sister in-law Walt and Chris Haneke of Spokane; sisters Roberta (Rick) Bagley of Priest River, Idaho, Billie Serbell of Otis Orchards, Wash., Janet Roseman of Spokane and Delores (Rocky) Fletcher of Athol, Idaho; one grandchild and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at the Lake City Church, 6000 Ramsey Road, Coeur d’Alene. A reception will follow in the Jacklin Building at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4060 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.
