Beverly Mae Allen (Bobbitt), 88

Beverly Mae Allen (Bobbitt), 88, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was born in San Diego, Calif., on June 2, 1927, and was the first born of Paul and Flora Berglund. Four years later, Beverly was joined by a sister, Dorothy. Beverly graduated from high school in San Diego.

Beverly met her husband, Jim Bobbitt, while he was serving in the Navy and they married in 1946. Jim and Beverly owned and operated a business equipment business in California before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1955. There she focused on caring for her family, which consisted of three children, multiple fruit orchards, a large vegetable garden and many farm animals. She was a devoted wife and mother. After living at the mouth of Cougar Gulch for 10 years, the family moved to Rathdrum, Idaho. Jim passed away in 1986 and Beverly had a home built in Coeur d’Alene where she resided until recent years.

Beverly remarried in 1993 to Reverend Stanley H. Allen and they worked together in several ministries both in Coeur d’Alene and where God’s calling beckoned. Stanley passed away in 2011.

She is survived by her three children: son David (Cherie) Bobbitt of Coeur d’Alene; daughter Nancy Hite of Hayden, Idaho; and daughter Ruth Ann Bobbitt of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Beverly remained connected as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to Stanley Allen’s children as well as her own.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Rathdrum Bible Church, 15127 Stevens St., Rathdrum, with a reception to follow at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. A private burial will be held at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, is in care of the arrangements.
