POST FALLS — Lisa Maatz, national vice president of government relations for the American Association of University Women, will speak in Post Falls next week on advocacy.

Maatz' presentation will be at 7 p.m., Feb. 16, in the Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center, 405 N. William. The presentation, “Advocacy Can Change the Course of Public Policy," is free and the public is invited.

Sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene branch of AAUW, the Post Falls presentation is part of a swing through Idaho by Maatz, who is AAUW's top policy analyst. It will be her only presentation in North Idaho. She also will be speaking in Boise, McCall and Lewiston.

In addition to other topics, Maatz will specifically address human trafficking and the need for early childhood education, which are AAUW Idaho's areas of focus in 2016.

Following her talk, she will answer questions from the audience.

Maatz is a dynamic speaker. She is a familiar face on Capitol Hill, where she regularly testifies on issues of importance to women and girls. She is featured in the book "Secrets of Powerful Women: Leading Change for a New Generation."
