WORKERS: Keep them dry

Recently I was at the Hayden Walmart and noticed the young man on the parking lot gathering in the shopping carts. It was obvious that he was soaked through as it had been raining all morning. I asked him if Walmart supplied foul weather gear for the outside employees. He said that at one time there was rain gear but that had worn out and had not been replaced. He smiled and kept on working.

I have to wonder why Walmart doesn’t keep up with what is available to their outside employees. They claim to be a caring store but caring for whom? I hope this situation changes for this is only one of several men I have seen on the parking lot in all sorts of weather.

The next time you are at any store where you see someone gathering the shopping carts just say a little thanks to them and let them know that you appreciate what they are doing. After all, if it wasn’t for them we’d all have to bring in our own carts!
