SERIES: Applause for The Press

Lynn Hagan’s letter to the editor Wednesday regarding “happy headlines” was off base. The investigative reporting in Death in the Valley was exemplary and I hope this newspaper continues doing those stories.

I would point out to Lynn that on the day of her letter being published, the local section of the paper had an uplifting story about a grant received by WITH to help veterans. The newspaper reports news, both uplifting and somber. It is up to readers to read more than just headlines and certainly more than just the front page.

PS: And it is never old news for a grieving parent wanting answers for the death of their child, and it is not old news for a community that needs answers as well.
