SCHOOL: Up with online

| February 5, 2016 8:00 PM

When my family moved to Idaho, my parents sent me to public school a few blocks from my house. After a few weeks, they realized the education I was receiving was below their standards. They decided to look into other options and they found IDVA. They were impressed with the curriculum and made the choice to enroll me.

I’ve been attending online school since second grade, and I am almost ready to move onto high school. In addition to an education that is well-rounded, I have had one on one instruction since my mom is my learning coach. The online experience allows my family more freedom and flexibility to travel, adjust my schedule to fit other activities, and attend class whenever and wherever I am. I can study at my own pace and make my own schedule.

Attending IDVA has given me the opportunity of being enrolled in the 8 in 6 program, which means that when I graduate from high school I will have completed my first two years of college. Perhaps online schooling is not for every family, but for my family, it has been a beneficial experience to choose the right education for me.
