REBUTTAL: Liberal shortcomings

| February 5, 2016 8:00 PM

I have been reading Reader’s Write for years, but have never felt compelled to write until the last nasty smear piece from Dan Gressler, his latest of many.

I am neither a left wing nut case nor a zealous tea toting right winger. I am a fiscal conservative and social liberal who votes for the best candidate that is right for America.

You called Trump the “ Anti-Christ and Satan’s Demon.” You stated that every other word out of his mouth is a lie, yet you make no mention of the chronic lies out of the White House (keep your doctor, keep your health plan, health care premiums will go down $2,500, ISIS is the JV team, and the list goes on). The biggest liar of all time, Hillary Clinton, never came out of your mouth.

I spent 25 years in Arkansas during the Clinton era. Trust me, there is no more dishonest people than the Clintons. I have to believe you are a hard core liberal Democrat. There is a difference between a hard core liberal and a hard core conservative. Conservatives want results and will vote out the politician who does nothing or does the opposite of what they ran on. Liberals just want to win and will keep voting the same, regardless of what they’ve said or done.

Case in point, the Congressman, William Jefferson, who was videotaped taking bribes and had $90,000 wrapped in foil and labeled lasagna in his freezer. Knowing this, Democrats re-elected him and he was in his seat as Congressman until they hauled him off to prison. What are Democrats thinking?

How about Charles Rangle, who was caught red handed evading his income taxes. Still, the Democrats have re-elected him...twice! Anyone who commits a crime or evades taxes should not be allowed to serve in Congress or any high level position in the federal government. Jon Corzine, a well-connected Democrat, gets away with losing almost $2 billion of customers’ money after it was transferred to shore up his investment side of the company, which was a crime. There are still no charges for this brought against Corzine. He enjoys his mega mansion while his victims lost their money.

As for the Republicans, Eric Cantor lost to a nobody because his constituents felt he did not represent them. John Boehner got the boot for rolling over time and again for Obama. Hopefully, Mitch McConnel will be next. At least the Republicans have the moral decency to get rid of many of the lying, corrupt, and unrepresentative politicians. When you are so extreme that you will support a candidate of your party no matter what they have done, then you get a government that lies and does whatever it wants, no matter how destructive to the country.

I will be voting for Trump, even though he has many faults. Weighing the good and bad of all candidates, I feel he has the whole country in his best interest instead of his own gain. Can Hillary say that? I think not.

As for you, Mr. Gressler, it’s time to stop drinking the liberal Kool-Aid and see the whole picture for America.
