In Loving Memory of Marcia Kaye DeShazer

Born: Oct. 11, 1938, in Emmetsburg, Iowa

Marcia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 29, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Marcia is survived by her brother, Joseph Dirkx of Pleasanton, Calif.; and sister Chloe Jacobson of Chandler, Ariz. She is also survived by her five children, Holly Try of Spokane Valley, Wash., Kim Baldwin of Rocklin, Calif., Susan Dwyer of Jupiter, Fla., Mitchell Dorpinghaus of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Joseph Dorpinghaus of Orange Park, Fla.; along with 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Marcia moved to San Lorenzo, Calif., in 1956 and worked as a hairdresser then as an administrative assistant, retiring with the East Bay Regional Park District in Oakland, Calif. Marcia moved to her beloved Coeur d’Alene in 2006. She also spent her time as a Hospice volunteer in the Coeur d’Alene area, and volunteered in Pet Therapy and various other organizations.

Marcia was loved by many for her sense of humor and lively spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, with a reception following. Marcia will be laid to rest at St. Pius X Columbarium in Coeur d’Alene.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be made to Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
