Play in a Day to return to Kroc Center

| December 16, 2016 8:00 PM

Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho will host the eighth annual Play in a Day fundraiser Dec. 27 and 28 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene.

Free to kids ages 10-18, Play in a Day is an opportunity for youngsters to participate in putting on a play within 24 hours, from auditions to the performance.

Hundreds of local children have participated in Play in a Day over the past seven years.

This year’s show will be “The Pied Piper of Hamelin,” an original musical written by Chill Bucket Productions.

“Some kids have told me this is their only opportunity to try theater,” said Bliss Lanier, executive director of CYT-North Idaho. “Because of the Play in a Day, some kids have become interested in theater and found it’s something they really love.”

Kids who want to participate are asked to sign up online prior to the event. To register, visit chillbucketproductions.com.

Because space is limited to 120 children, early sign-ups are encouraged.

The final performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road. The show is open to the public with tickets on sale for $11 online or $15 at the door. Proceeds go to CYT-North Idaho. To purchase tickets, visit chillbucketproductions.com.
