Robert Howard Halladay, 71

Robert Howard Halladay, 71, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (and Redding, Calif.), passed away surrounded by family on Aug. 23, 2016.

Bob was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Bremerton, Wash., to Glenn and Pauline Halladay. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1962 and from the University of Idaho in 1967 where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) fraternity. After graduating from the University of Idaho, he and his family relocated to California. In the 1970s, he opened his own real estate company, Pacific Reality Exchange, and he worked as a real estate broker in Redding for more than 40 years. Bob was an active member of the Anderson Rotary where he did many good works for the community. He loved his dog, Sonny, and spending his retired years with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob enjoyed spending the summers at the family cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene and he enjoyed his winters in Mexico.

Bob was a loving father and friend. His boisterous laugh was infectious and brought a smile to every face in the room. He loved NASCAR, skeet shooting, Corvettes and spending time with good friends.

He is survived by his children, Eric, Michelle (Paul), Bridget (John) and Scott; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary Halladay; three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Pauline Halladay; and his sister, Glenda Sitton.

A private family memorial will be held at the family lake cabin in Coeur d’Alene.
