EUGENE, Ore. — Koby Murphree gave North Idaho College the early lead, but the Cardinals settled for a tie for the second straight day, this time 1-1 vs. Portland Community College on Sunday to wrap up the NWAC Fall Festival.

Murphree’s brother, Kade, cleared the ball long and high from his own 18. Koby ran it down and drilled a shot into the lower left of the net from 25 yards out.

“Koby’s goal was a fantastic finish,” NIC coach Ken Thompson said. “Portland was a big, very physical team, and Garrett Boyce had some huge saves. At least four of them were fully extended saves.”

NIC (0-0-2) plays at Whitworth on Thursday.

First half — 1, NIC, Koby Murphree (Kade Murphree), 22:00. Second half — 2, Port, Jared Sires (unassisted), 66:00.
