Susan G. Todd, 70
Susan G. Todd, 70, of Rathdrum, passed away with family by her side on Aug. 22, 2016, at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. Susan was born Aug. 12, 1946, to Roy E. and Gertie (Remington) Hetland in Thief River Falls, Minn. Susan was raised and attended schools in Kennewick, Wash. She was a licensed beautician.
Susan married Scott E. Todd in Kennewick on Aug. 13, 1961. They were married for 40 years before Scott passed away in 2005. They had three children. The family lived in Kennewick for several years and then moved to Moscow, Idaho, in 1970 until June 1982. The family relocated to Oklahoma and Texas as Scott’s work required. In 1991, the family moved to Coeur d’Alene.
Susan was an accomplished artist. Her works have been widely exhibited in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane. She was very skilled in capturing scenes on canvas. She was active in the 3Cs of Coeur d’Alene, as well as participating in many community clubs and activities. Susan and her husband, Scott, were very active in the Inland Empire MG Car Club and enjoyed their time together traveling in their MGs. The Todd family were experienced and avid skiers and loved to ski at many resorts around the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Susan loved fashion and always had a variety of shoes ready to wear for any occasion. Susan’s hobbies were many; she was a talented seamstress, gardener, made her own jewelry, loved cooking, was an avid reader and loved her pets. She traveled extensively enjoying nature and educating herself in many fields. Susan will be remembered by her family and friends as being full of life, always enthusiastic and ready to go on a new adventure.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kaufman of Rathdrum and grandson Ryan Kaufman of Lewiston; son Michael Todd and granddaughter Caitlin Todd of Otis Orchards; and grandson Kaelan Todd of Benton City, Wash. Susan leaves a sister, Peggy Dixon of Kennewick; and a sister-in-law June and Milt Alexander of Rathdrum. Susan was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Scott and son Justin Todd.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
