Dust Devils drop Indians

SPOKANE — Luis Asuncion and Josh Magee hit back-to-back RBI doubles to cap a five-run fifth inning for the Tri-City Dust Devils in a 7-3 win over the Spokane Indians in Northwest League baseball in front of a sellout crowd of 7,014 at Avista Stadium on Friday.

Spokane (9-19 second half) has lost eight straight games and nine of its last 10 overall.

Tri-City is 11-17.

The teams meet again tonight at 6:30.

Everett clinched the second half title on Friday with a 9-2 win against visiting Vancouver in other Northwest League action.
